Sodexo can provide additional ancillary services that help contribute to a safe, more enjoyable experience for camp residents.

Security Services

As requested by the project owner, Sodexo will provide around-the-clock security services to control access and movement of people and vehicles, perform patrols, and provide surveillance against theft to ensure the safety and security of camp residents and visitors while protecting the physical assets of the owner's camp facilities and equipment. In performing these functions, Sodexo will liaise with local law enforcement agencies.

As part of its camp security function, Sodexo can work closely with the camp provider to install and maintain perimeter fencing that further supports camp security. Smoke detection systems, fire alarms and fire extinguishers will be provided and maintained. Sodexo will provide training for personnel in the use of fire fighting extinguishers and shall be involved in fire drills which will take place on a regular basis. Records referring to testing of fire safety systems and equipment will be kept in the project office.

Camp Emergency Procedures will be developed in consultation with project owner and updated as needed. Sodexo will ensure methods of fire escape, raising alarm, building safety requirements and equipment requirements are in line with all codes and regulations. Smoking will be permitted only in approved areas. Camp service staff will be trained in the role of room searching in the event that camp evacuation is required and resident roll call procedures developed for mustering purposes.

Sodexo will utilize security services provided by Doyon Universal Services Security. DUS Security is an Alaskan company jointly owned by Sodexo and partner Doyon Corporation and licenses to operate in most of the Lower 48 states. It specializes in providing integrated facility services for critical infrastructure. For instance, it provides security services along the 800-mile length of the Trans Alaska Pipeline, Prudhoe Bay oil fields, the Port of Anchorage and several U.S. refineries.

During the mobilization of camp operations, Sodexo and DUS Security will develop a site specific Camp Security Plan for review and approval of the project owner.

Insect and Pest Control

Sodexo is responsible for the control of all insects, rodents, vermin and stray animals that constitute a potential health hazard, a threat to buildings or which may consume or contaminate food supplies. Although a third party may perform the actual fumigation of camp facilities, it is important that the fumigation experts and caterer co-ordinate their activities. For instance, it is necessary that all food products be safely stored to prevent their contamination by toxic ingredients and that care be taken that chemical residue does not settle on counter tops or food preparation areas, etc. Fumigation needs to be scheduled at times that do not interfere with meal preparation and service excess chemicals and containers must be disposed of away from food service areas, etc.

Sodexo will obtain all licenses and permits that may be required and will ascertain that any selected sub-contractor is properly licensed, bonded and authorized to provide such services. A written record will be maintained of all applications. All pesticides will be kept in securely locked areas when not being applied and used containers will be carefully disposed of to prevent any subsequent misuse.

Recreation Program

When specified by the project owner, Sodexo will administer a recreation program to promote social, cultural, educational, athletic and entertainment events. In developing the program, activities will be offered that respond to the range of interests of camp residents. Recreation facilities will be available on a non-discriminatory basis. A "reservation" system can be developed for those facilities in high demand.

Sample recreation activities could include:

Pool Tables
Ping Pong Tables
Soccer Tables

We will maintain TV's and VCR's in camp as mandated by the scope of contract and maintain a variety of DVD and / or CD media.

Sodexo will operate a small canteen (commissary) for the convenience of camp residents. Actual hours of operation will be established for the convenience of camp residents and can be adjusted if the work schedule changes. The commissary will stock items such as candy, tobacco products, soft drinks, toiletries, soft and periodicals, etc.

Bar Operation

When stipulated by a contract scope of work, Sodexo will operate a bar to provide a range of beer and wine, non-alcoholic beverages, drinks and snacks.
