Sodexo Remote Sites can work closely with the project owner to ensure that camp facilities, grounds, equipment, utilities and services are maintained in optimum operating condition. We can also provide assurance that preventive maintenance programs are in place.

Each remote site location will have unique factors that determine the specific range of maintenance services required and the scope of services specified by the project owner may be determined in part by the capabilities of other contractors working on site. Generally speaking, however, Sodexo's area of responsibility may include but not be limited to the following:

Stairs and landings
Painting and overall appearance
Exterior walls
Roofs and gutters
Windows and doors
Interior walls and partitions
Floors and floor surfaces
Central HVAC
Refrigeration equipment
Water pumps
Appliances
Furniture and fittings
Electrical system
Plumbing system
Camp vehicles
Grounds

The first step in implementing a sound maintenance plan is developing a diligent system for thoroughly inspecting the camp, equipment, utilities and grounds to determine their overall condition. Then, a detailed inspection "audit" schedule can be developed itemizing and prioritizing the items in need of maintenance. The inspection audits, in addition to determining needed repairs, provide another benefit by serving as the cornerstone of our preventative maintenance program. Instead of waiting for equipment and facilities to break, we will take a proactive approach aimed at prolonging the useful life of the camp facilities.

An important component of the preventative maintenance program is administering the existing warranties that cover the facilities, equipment and furnishings. We will develop procedures that track the status of all warranties that are in force, taking care to document all required data, such as dates of purchase, serial numbers and length of warranty coverage.

At many of its work sites Sodexo utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to record equipment history to plan maintenance tasks.
