With the advent of Tablet PC's, Burke has the unique ability to bring cutting edge technology to our Field Superintendents.  By turning an entire set of Plans and specifications into a set of PDF documents, we can enable our superintendents to quickly and accurately access data at the click of an icon.

Plans and specifications are "linked" via a PDF file so that when a particular "call-out" is made by the architect, the Superintendent will click on the call-out icon and go directly to the information.  This saves our superintendents a vast amount of time searching through sets of plans looking for a particular piece of information and also is an excellent quality control tool as well.

Using a Tablet PC also eliminates the need to lug bulky plans into the field, which can often become a cumbersome task.  Our field superintendents now carry a 13" tablet screen with the most accurate and up to date plan information available at a moment's notice.  Additionally, we remain sustainable by reducing the waste caused by printing a full set of plans, specifications and potential plan changes.  An additional benefit of this technology is having our superintendents concentrate more on the physical project management since they are now able to spend more time in the field; which helps increase the quality control, safety and success of the project.

The use of tablet PC's along with linked PDF documents allows Burke to access data more quickly and accurately which in turn provides the opportunity for us to share that speed with our Project Owners, ultimately resulting in a more accurate and timely project.
