| The Burke Construction Group estimating department provides conceptual or preliminary magnitude estimates during the schematic design phase, budget estimates or semi-detailed estimates during the design development phase, and firm bid estimates or guaranteed maximum price estimates when the project drawings and specifications are 100 percent complete. Our estimators draw on many years of experience with hundreds of projects completed and thousands of projects bid. Our automated database of subcontractors has more than 2,200 pre-qualified subcontractors and suppliers; which ensures for a very competitive project cost.
As a cutting edge general contractor, Burke applies this philosophy into all company processes. The integration of on-screen take off software utilized with digital takeoff tablets in our estimating department - allows for precision estimating in all disciplines. By utilizing this state of the art technology, we can now provide our clients with precise estimates combined with detailed graphic scopes of work.
Our Chief Estimator, Dimitri Mihaloliakos, is responsible for coordinating all estimating and project bidding activities with the Burke estimating department. Our estimating department is supported by Nancy Ortiz, our estimating coordinator, who coordinates all bidding activities with the subcontractors.
Burke's estimating process requires a comprehensive and systematic approach. Quantity take-offs of materials is accomplished with the aid of our Computerized Estimating Program. Work scope clarifications are recorded for each trade through sixteen separate categories. At Burke, estimating is a precise science, which determines the true actual cost of a project.
