| Burke personnel will develop a Master Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule on each project. The CPM schedule will clearly define in great detail all activities and tasks that must be accomplished along with establishing a specific timeline in which each activity or task must be completed. This schedule will be developed together with Burke's project manager and superintendent; with additional input from the owner, architect, key subcontractors, and suppliers.
This schedule will provide a road map on which we will drive each project to a successful finish. It also identifies all pre-construction, construction, and post-construction activities and includes activities to be completed by the owner or other participants in the project to provide a seamless transition for the final stage of construction; owner move-in and occupancy of the building.
In addition to this Master CPM schedule, each week the Project Superintendent will develop a three-week "look ahead" schedule, which enables him to coordinate and communicate the necessary activities, or tasks, which must be completed to meet the Master CPM Schedule. This is an integral part of our scheduling technique where we establish short-term goals in order to obtain our long-term objective of completing the project on or ahead of time.
